After a year, the long-awaited next-gen folding smartphone from HUAWEI is finally going to be launched. Today, a teaser poster of the HUAWEI Mate X2 has appeared confirming something that has been rumoured for a while.

Last week, we reported on the leak on a Weibo post by Digital Chat Station on the HUAWEI Mate X2 outlook picture. Yesterday, HUAWEI officially announced it will hold a new product launch conference on 22 February and release the new generation of HUAWEI Mate X2. 

It seems that a user on weibo called Digital Chat Station recently uploaded a picture regarding the Huawei Mate X2, giving us a better idea on how the smartphone could potentially look like. Unfortunately, there’s no information in regards to the Malaysia release date and local pricing so you might want to check back with us on that in the near future.

Just a few hours ago, Huawei Consumer Business President Yu Chengdong just posted an official launch date for the Huawei Mate X2. The upcoming second-gen foldable phone is scheduled to launch in China on 22 February 2021, which could also mean that the Huawei P50 series may make its potential debut but that's just us speculating.

The Huawei Mate X2 has been in the rumours since early last year. But even after being certified by China's 3C in November 2020, there were no signs of an upcoming launch until recently. Now, there is reason to believe that the device could indeed be unveiled in February.

The HUAWEI Mate 40 series had arrived last year with the standard Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, and a Porsche Edition Mate 40 Pro RS. After that, the Mate 40E is said to be in the works as it was spotted on Wireless Charging Alliance. As the whole Mate 40 lineup uses the Kirin 9000 chipset, the upcoming Mate 40E is also expected to come with the same chipset. However, it is reported that other devices like the P50 series, Mate X2, and MatePad Pro 2 will also use the Kirin 9000.

Based on a statement by a digital chat station on weibo, it seems that the full specs regarding the Huawei Mate X2 may have been leaked, as well as the possible release date which might be on February 2021. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date, it does give us a better idea on what to expect when it is available in the global market.
