For those who bought the previous HUAWEI smartphones that come with GMS (Google Mobile Services), this could be a problem that you might be worried about after the US ban happened. As the company no longer has access to American software and technology, current users are wondering if their HUAWEI devices (with GMS) still can get system updates or security patches. Now, it appears that the answer might be a 'yes' from a statement made by HUAWEI.

Earlier this month, Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong announced that its upcoming smartwatch will feature Harmony OS. He also mentioned that other products, including smartphones, will start using the OS too. Now, sources suggest that smartphones with Harmony OS could appear sooner than later.

Nowadays, it looks like Huawei is becoming more self-reliant especially after the ban took place. Although the company has been restricted to access resources from the U.S. for their technology products, they are still constantly coming up with new ideas to wow the crowd. Recently, it is suggested that all of the Huawei products might ditch Android OS and replaced by the HarmonyOS in the future.

Owing to the troubles that Huawei faced with Google this year, it was inevitable for the manufacturer to want more of its devices to feature HarmonyOS. In a new report by Reuters, Huawei said that it wants more of its products to feature the home-grown OS.

Earlier today, HONOR gave us a live demo of the HONOR Vision Pro Smart TV which is the very first product by HONOR to come equipped with the HarmonyOS. While the aforementioned Smart TV is not currently available in Malaysia, HONOR has assured us that we should be able to get it for ourselves eventually.

Back in early August, Huawei unveiled its own Harmony OS as an ecosystem to be used in all their devices in the future. Many Huawei fans and mobile users are quite curious about what it could bring to the table, but they will probably have to wait for a while because Huawei doesn't plan to release it this year.
