The Huawei Ascend G6 4G is the refresh of the Huawei Ascend G6 with new 4G LTE connectivity. Originally designed to provide a more affordable midrange offering of the former flagship Huawei Ascend P6, the Ascend G6 features the same look and feel with a slightly smaller 4.5-inch screen and a thicker 7.9mm thin chassis. The third Huawei flagship store in Malaysia has recently been opened in the KLCC Twin Towers. The store is located at Lot 316A on the Third Floor and should give users the chance to try out the latest Huawei devices like the Huawei Ascend P7 and Huawei MediaPad X1. In conjunction with this opening, Huawei Malaysia are holding the Twin Tower, Twin Promotion we reported on earlier. The first 100 Twins, Triplets or Quadruplets who purchase a Huawei Ascend P7, Huawei X1 7.0, Huawei Ascend G6 or Huawei Ascend G750 from the store, from 16 July 2014 to 20 July 2014, are entitled to a “buy 1 free 1 or buy 1 free 2” promotion". The Huawei Ascend G6 recently got a new release here in Malaysia with a version supporting 4G LTE. Featuring tech specs that include an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 4.5-inch screen to go with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB worth of RAM. It seems the race is on for more affordable 4G LTE devices as Samsung have officially announced the Galaxy Core Lite for just TWD7990 (RM853). Other tech specs for the Galaxy Core Lite include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 4.7-inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, 5MP rear camera with LED flash and 2000 mAh battery. Running on Android 4.3 the Galaxy Core Lite is available for Taiwan in June 2014, but there are still no details on Malaysia release dates or pricing. In related news, a number of other below RM1000 4G LTE smartphones are coming to Malaysia including the Huawei Ascend G6 and we should be able to expect the OPPO R1S or the ASUS ZenFone 5 LTE eventually.

After quite a bit of teasing about the upcoming products to be revealed along with the Malaysia launch for the Huawei Ascend P7 smartphone, Huawei Malaysia launched the smartphone today and confirmed practically all of the other products teased earlier. This includes the Huawei TalkBand B1, Huawei MediaPad X1 7.0 3G / 4G LTE, Huawei MediaPad M1 8.0 3G / 4G LTE and Huawei Ascend G6 3G / 4G LTE. The Huawei Ascend P7 features tech specs which include a 1.8GHz HiSilicon Kirin 910 quad-core processor, 5-inch 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution screen, 13MP BSI rear camera, 8MP BSI front camera and 4G LTE connectivity. At just 6.5mm thin this smartphone is one of the slimmest flagship level smartphones in the market while still managing to pack in even more features and better design than the previous Huawei Ascend P6.
