HUAWEI could be taking small steps to free itself from the US trade ban as it's reported that the Chinese company could be allowed to purchase chips from the country again. However, the chips are not for smartphones but car parts such as video screens and sensors. Therefore, you might need to put the thought of the company gaining back its access to the Qualcomm chips or even Android on hold.

The HUAWEI Nova series is loved by many as it offers high-end specs but still comes with affordable price tags. In April, the Nova 7 series arrived with three devices namely Nova 7 SE, Nova 7, and Nova 7 Pro. Right after few months, the Nova 8 series has already come into the picture with a few rumours. It is claimed that the upcoming Nova series will ditch Kirin chipsets and rely on MediaTek's Dimensity chipsets.

As per tradition, Huawei would always introduce their latest Kirin chipset at the IFA event annually. For this upcoming IFA 2020 event on 3 September, it was previously reported that the Kirin 1000 would be the next chipset but that could be no longer the case. Thanks to a new report, the company could unveil the Kirin 9000 chipset for the Huawei Mate 40 series.

Huawei's Kirin 990 chipset may be a powerful chipset, but the company probably won't be able to advance much beyond what they can currently do with the 7nm process. Instead, Huawei decided to move to the 5nm process for the rumoured upcoming Kirin 1020 chipset, codenamed 'Baltimore'.
