News & Reviews:   Huawei P50 Malaysia launch

It was only last week when Huawei hosted an event showcasing the HarmonyOS and devices that are eligible for the upgrade. While there was a no-show for the Huawei P50 series, we got ourselves some new information about the P50 series phone and a MatePad 11 tablet.

A few days ago, a tweet by @RODENT950 was posted claiming that the upcoming Huawei P50 series could be the last smartphone lineup using Leica lenses. The original poster also claimed that Leica is currently looking for a new manufacturer such as HONOR, Xiaomi or even Sharp.

Based on a tweet by Twitter user @RODENT950, it seems that the attached images might have confirmed the final design of the Huawei P50 series. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is available in the local market.

We are now in May and there's still no sign of a new Huawei flagship phone for the first time in years. Normally, they would unveil the latest P series from March onwards but the trouble with the US government is unfortunately far from over. Here's the latest news development of the rumoured Huawei P50 series.

At this time, more leaks of the HUAWEI P50 series are popping up frequently as we're getting closer to the launch which is rumoured to happen in May or June. Earlier, we've seen few renders of the device by showing us a dual-loop camera module design. Today, the live images leaked by someone are showing us the same thing that we saw.

Looks like a weibo user by the name of Dragon Two Pro recently made a post stating that the Huawei P50 series will come with a ‘Dual-Loop’ design at the rear. While not much is known in regards to the exact tech specs, we do know that it will come equipped with one of the largest camera sensors to date.

After Apple ditched the charger in the packaging of the iPhone 12 series, a few other smartphone makers such as Samsung and Xiaomi have also followed in the footsteps. Not only the mentioned brands, but HUAWEI has also taken the charging adapter out from the box of the Nova 8 and Mate 40 series. However, the Chinese company is not doing this mainly for environmental concerns but another reason.

Earlier, it was reported that HUAWEI will be rolling out the stable version of its in-house operating system HarmonyOS in April after multiple beta tests being conducted in its home country. However, it looks like we'll have to wait for two more months as the president of HUAWEI Consumer Business Software Dr. Wang Chenglu stated that the OS will only be launched in June.

Looks like the protective casing that’s meant to fit the Huawei P50 series might have been spotted on gizmochina, confirming that the device will indeed come with two large camera sensors at the rear. With that in mind, the smartphone will be the first to come equipped with a large 1-inch Sony IMX800 image sensor at the rear.

It seems that the Huawei P50 renders has been spotted on voice.com showcasing the design, hinting that it will come with a similar design to the Huawei P50 Pro. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is available in the local market.
