Looks like Huawei laptops will continue to work smoothly for users as both Microsoft and Intel confirm that they will be continuing their updates and support for the Chinese manufacturer. Both companies will be providing security updates for Huawei’s devices that come with Windows 10 and Intel processors.

So this just came in, just an hour ago a local gadget dealer, DirectD just announced on their Facebook post that they will offer a full refund if the Google Apps and Playstore access stops working on your Huawei mobile and tablet devices.

In case you missed it, the Huawei notebook lineup previously disappeared on Microsoft's online store last month due to the on-going trade war. Microsoft didn't give any comment on their actions, but it seems that they have put Huawei back again this week.

So what's the latest update with Huawei? Well, just in case you missed it - the company has apparently shipped about a million devices with HongMeng OS, although oddly not on new devices because this is for testing purpose. While that's understandable, it looks like the company is going aggressive as they have requested on trademarking HongMeng name in various countries.

While Huawei is still within the previous 90-day ban delay, Russell T. Vought, acting director of the Office of Management and Budget has called for a 2-year delay on the ban for Huawei as it would impact American companies (yes, US companies sell a lot to Huawei) and US rural telcos (yes, they also use a lot of 3G/4G Huawei networking equipment). You can read the quote below, but it basically means that banning one of the largest smartphone makers and leading networking companies in the world immediately isn’t such a good or feasible idea.

As the trade war goes on, Google services will soon be put on halt on 19 August 2019 officially but today, Huawei has made an interesting move. According to XDA Developers, the company has sent out invitations to developers to publish their apps on the Huawei AppGallery app store.

In light of an article that we have written last Friday regarding Facebook’s decision, of not allowing new Huawei and HONOR smartphones come with Facebook applications pre-installed. Huawei has given an official statement stating that “Facebook is a third-party application, and can be installed and used without any issue on HUAWEI devices.”

As a result of the on-going trade war, Huawei has already prepared themselves with a brand new OS just in case Google stops supporting them (which it will). Currently, there are very little things that we know of, but someone managed to grab the screenshots of the filed patents in Europe under the codename Ark OS, Huawei Ark Os, Ark, and Huawei Ark.

Despite the support Huawei has been receiving, HONOR President, Zhao Ming is currently looking into adjusting the company’s internal goals. He mentioned that it is still too soon to say if the Chinese manufacturer can still achieve its goals but admitted that things aren’t looking too good. They are currently reassessing their goal of overtaking Samsung in the near future.
