    61 Proton e.MAS 7 will be used as the official vehicles for the ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship 2025

    Previously, we reported that Malaysia was in the final preparations to make the Proton e.MAS 7 the official ASEAN vehicle. Now, it has been announced that 61 of Malaysia’s first national EVs will be used as official vehicles for key delegations during the ASEAN-Malaysia Chairmanship 2025.

  • Recently, Malaysia’s Proton CEO, Li Chunrong said that Proton could be coming out with their first electric vehicle or EV “very soon”. Whether or not this means we could see said Proton EV appear commercially in 2024 or 2025 has yet to be revealed, so there are obviously no exact Malaysia release dates just yet.

    The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has announced that it will be reviewing the previously set target of having 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in the country by 2025. Its Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz clarified that while the government is maintaining the target as of now, his Cabinet colleagues will re-examine whether it is actually achievable.

    Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has announced that it will be building electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in various spot along the North-South Expressway as part of its collaboration with PLUS Malaysia Bhd. Accordingly, the utility firm is investing RM90 million over the next 3 years to support the EV ecosystem.
