In 2022, Celcom and Digi began talks to merge the two companies, that would eventually become CelcomDigi. Hoping to utilize the best of both telcos, initial signs indicated that there was some improvement but lately, quite a few CelcomDigi users from our Facebook page have said that it has become worse since their merger. On paper, pulling all the resources from both sides should make the mobile internet experience better but it became the opposite instead.

Building upon the foundation of the previous Sustainability Achieved via Energy Efficiency (SAVE) program, Malaysians can now get an up to RM400 rebate off of energy star 4.0 and above electrical appliances with the SAVE 4.0 initiative. Recently announced by Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister, SAVE 4.0 will allocate RM50 million on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Recently, we shared a few essential tech tips for post-pandemic international travel, including familiarising yourself with a specific country’s contact tracing app. Well, that includes our country’s own MySejahtera app, which until today requires those entering Malaysia to fill in its Traveller Pass feature.
However, the requirement will be rescinded starting this 4 July 2022 for Malaysians coming back home from overseas, though it will still be enforced for foreign nationals entering our country. This was announced by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin through a Ministry of Health statement yesterday.

Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri yesterday announced that RM2.7 million worth of e-vouchers has been allocated for Malaysians to purchase domestic flight tickets online. The e-vouchers, worth between RM25 and RM100 can be redeemed by 45,879 Malaysians until the end of 2022.

The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) today revealed further details regarding the 2022 Special Withdrawal which allows members to withdraw up to RM10000. Taking to its official Facebook page, the statutory body revealed that only one single payment will be made to members under the scheme, starting from 20 April 2022.
To be eligible for the Special Withdrawal, members must be under 55 years old, a Malaysian citizen and have at least RM150 remaining in their EPF accounts. The scheme is available for non-Malaysian citizens too, including Permanent Residents.

MySejahtera, the mobile application developed by the Malaysian Government to facilitate contact tracing has assured Malaysians that there would not be any administration of a fourth Covid-19 vaccine dose as of right now. Furthermore, users are also advised to disregard any vaccine appointment links if they have already been fully vaccinated.
Taking to its official Facebook page, MySejahtera addressed the confusion surrounding Covid-19 vaccine appointment links received by the app users recently. Some received the link even though they have already gotten the Covid-19 vaccine as well as its booster dose.
