MediaTek has been performing exceptionally well in the chip industry. The company's offerings are even going head to head against Qualcomm's flagships nowadays. However, let's not forget that the mid-range chips are the products that gave the semiconductor manufacturer its reputation. With that said, it's back with another new chip today, namely the Dimensity 1300.

Samsung has always depended on Qualcomm Snapdragon and its own Exynos for its flagship devices. If this new information were accurate, the Korean tech giant could trust the MediaTek chips to power its flagship lineup in the future, which it has been only using for budget devices. 

It seems that next-gen of flagship mobile chipsets will be sacrificing power efficiency in favour of performance boost. This is according to a new leak that claimed ARM’s upcoming Cortex-X3 cores to be more power hungry than its predecessor.

The new Cortex-X3 cores are expected to make its way into next generation mobile chipsets including the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and Samsung Exynos 2300. Furthermore, it may even feature inside the MediaTek Dimensity 10000.

In 2020, MediaTek had surpassed Qualcomm to become the number one chip vendor in global markets. However, Qualcomm still had its number one spot secured in the US for several quarters after that. Now, it looks like MediaTek is powerful enough to turn the table by snatching the crown from the US-based company.

MediaTek has unveiled two new 5nm Dimensity 8000 series chips, namely Dimensity 8000 and 8100. Despite having a similar architecture, the Dimensity 8100 comes with a few better advantages. Now, let's read on to find out what they offer for the next-gen mid-range smartphones.

MediaTek is taking a huge leap for its upcoming mid-range products. According to the latest information, the semiconductor company is gearing to launch a new G-series chipset by mid-2022. The new mid-range offering will be the successor of last year's Helio G96, which is a dated 12nm chip.
