Earlier this month, Microsoft announced an event where it would launch a series of new products. This includes new Microsoft Surface laptops like the Surface Pro 8. But an interesting one would be the Surface Duo 2, which is a major improvement over its predecessor.

Just a few hours ago, Microsoft has confirmed that a new Surface laptop will be unveiled in the coming weeks. On 22 September 2021, the event will be live-streamed at 11 AM ET which is 11 PM at night in Malaysia's time zone. Besides announcing a new product, the company will also update us about devices and Windows 11.

Regular smartphones are no longer interesting for many, so companies started exploring new form factors. Microsoft decided to go with a dual-screen, which sounds interesting on paper. The Surface Duo didn't quite succeed, but maybe an improved software for the Surface Duo 2 would do the trick.

Microsoft Surface Duo is a dual-screen device that was launched last year. Compare to Samsung's folding devices, Microsoft's offering is less attractive as it doesn't feature a folding display but simply connecting two screens with a mechanism. Despite that, the tech giant is still going with the same design for the successor, but the good news is, it is said to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset this time.

Remember last year's Microsoft Surface Duo? Despite the unique dual-screen, it's tech specs weren't the most impressive and the price tag made it hard to recommend. Regardless, sources claim that Microsoft is working on a successor that will launch this year.
