    Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has revealed that FLYsiswa will be made an annual initiative by the Ministry of Transport (MOT). In case you’re not familiar, FLYsiswa is an initiative offering subsidised flight tickets to public university students for domestic routes between the peninsula, Sabah, Sarawak and the Federal Territory of Labuan.

    Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has announced that the Ministry of Transport (MOT) views seriously the incident of an 18-year-old teenager electrocuted to death onboard an express bus at Penang Sentral in Butterworth, Penang.     The Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) together with the Malaysian Ministry of Transport (MOT) is conducting a trial operation of the Automatic Transit Vehicle (ART) or trackless tram from 13 May to 31 July 2024. This pilot project aims to introduce ART as one of the modes of transport that complement the existing system network in Putrajaya.     Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has revealed that his Ministry has never approved any e-hailing service provider in the country to use the price bidding system for passengers. He added that his ministry was not informed about the matter and has since directed the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD) to investigate the matter.

This is after the Road Transport Department (JPJ) revealed that the company was never authorised by JPJ or the Transport Ministry to offer road tax renewal services, to which BJAK responded by clarifying that the service is only optional and now, free of charge.

    Now, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has also addressed the matter, saying that he is open to the company becoming JPJ’s strategic partner. However, the online platform must go through proper channels in doing so.
