The OPPO Reno8 has been in the rumour mills for some time now and today, OPPO finally announced the official release date for the smartphone. Taking to its Weibo account, the company revealed that its latest mid-range device will be launched on Monday, 23 May 2022 at 7pm in China.

After launching the OPPO Find N near the end of last year, the Chinese company is now planning to launch another foldable device. The upcoming one is said to be a clamshell foldable smartphone and won't hurt your wallet that much compared to other foldable devices.

In OPPO's ongoing journey in pursuit of innovative technology, the company will be adding two new features for ColorOS 12 - Color Vision Enhancement and Battery Health Engine software. While there's no date release yet, here's what we know about the two new ColorOS 12 features. 

Unfortunately, a new source points out that OnePlus might not be ready to launch its foldable smartphone in 2022 despite the rumour from last week. It was reported that the first OnePlus foldable device could be a rebranded OPPO Find N, but it looks like we'll not be able to see it this fast.

OPPO has recently taken fast charging to a whole other level by introducing not only a 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge, but also a 240W version of the same technology. Unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2022 (MWC), the 240W SUPERVOOC™ flash charge can fully charge a 4500mAh battery from 0% in just 9 minutes.

Given the incredible charging speed, some users have had reservations regarding the new technology, fearing that it may jeopardise battery health. However, OPPO Malaysia in a statement yesterday assured users that this is simply not the case, saying that its SUPERVOOC flash charge comes with a 'Battery Health Engine' that doubles battery lifespan.

OPPO is all about fast charging technology at the MWC 2022. Today, the company had presented the 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge with Battery Health Engine and 240W SUPERVOOC flash charge. Two are very impressive technologies, and we can't wait to get our hands on them!

Last year, OPPO unveiled its first foldable device at the OPPO INNO Day. That device features the standard inward-fold with a relatively affordable price. But that's probably not the last one that the company has to show, with sources claiming two more foldable devices to come in 2022.

The OnePlus 10 series might not be the only flagship devices that the company launches this year. According to new information, OnePlus could introduce an "ultra flagship" in the second half of 2022.
