  • Rumours: OnePlus 2 leaked images appear

Rumours: OnePlus 2 leaked images appear

With the OnePlus 2 expected to be revealed in a matter of hours, leaked images of the smartphone have appeared. While it isn't the most innovative design we've seen, it does bring a number of new features to the OnePlus One. This includes a full metal frame, dual-led flash and what appears to be rear camera controls. The removable sandstone backplate remains though so it should satisfy most OnePlus purists but there are still no details about specific tech specs and pricing. Previous reports had the OnePlus 2 priced below $450 (which would make it flagship level priced already) and coming with 4GB RAMa fingerprint sensor and graphite-cooled Snapdragon 810 processor. The leaker who showed these new pics actually had a few comments on the new OnePlus 2 which you can see in this article.

OnePlus confirms that OnePlus 2 will have 4GB LPDDR4 RAM

Another day another OnePlus 2 teaser, this time around OnePlus have confirmed that their upcoming smartphone will have 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. It joins a number of other 4GB RAM smartphones like the ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE551ML and the Lenovo K90 but sets itself apart by using the faster DDR4 RAM, a tech spec which only a few smartphones offer. Other confirmed features for the OnePlus 2 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processorfingerprint scanner and be priced "under 450 USD" (RM1717). It will also have a full metal frame and USB Type C port. No Malaysia release dates but the OnePlus 2 is expected to be announced officially on 27 July 2015.

  • OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus 2 will cost less than $450 (RM1717?)

OnePlus confirms that the OnePlus 2 will cost less than $450 (RM1717?)

OnePlus continues to drop the OnePlus 2 teasers as it heads towards the 27 July 2015 unveil date. Previously we reported on its Snapdragon 810 processor and fingerprint scanner but now a tweet from Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus reveals that the OnePlus 2 will be priced "under 450 USD". While this could mean the OnePlus 2 gets priced at $499.99 (RM1717) it is a significant step up in pricing from the original OnePlus One which started from $299 (RM1141). This could be caused by other OnePlus 2 features like a full metal frame and USB Type C port but if it does reach $449.99 it isn't a "flagship killer" anymore as it essentially becomes a flagship smartphone itself. The recent Huawei P8 flagship smartphone was priced at RM1799 and other similar flagship level smartphones are also being priced around this point as well.

  • OnePlus 2 confirmed to come with a fingerprint sensor

OnePlus 2 confirmed to come with a fingerprint sensor

The next iteration of the OnePlus "flagship killer" the OnePlus 2 has been confirmed to come with a fingerprint sensor. Coming courtesy of OnePlus themselves, this bit of information follows their incremental approach at revealing bit by agonizing bit about their upcoming smartphone. So far, OnePlus have also confirmed that it will be using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that won't overheat. Other details and tech specs were not available but the new fingerprint sensor will apparently be quick (which means it will likely be a one-touch type) and can store up to five fingerprints. No Malaysia release dates yet but many are expecting the OnePlus 2 on 27 July 2015.
