With the announcement of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in Malaysia last night, Xiaomi also revealed the much-teased Redmi K40 series in China. The Redmi K series would usually get rebranded for the global market and that seems to be the case for the Redmi K40 series.

Based on a statement by Redmi on their official weibo account, it seems that the upcoming Redmi K40 series will come equipped with up to a 4520mAh internal battery. While not much is known in regards to the Malaysia release date, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is available outside the Chinese market.

You can expect to see more news on upcoming smartphones, with Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021 just around the corner. However, not all brands are planning to wait for the annual event to unveil their products. In fact, the Redmi K40 series is coming soon.

There are plenty of rumours are going around before the Redmi K40 series will be launched. Today we found a new leak about the phones, the company could launch three models and the highest variant might sport a 108MP main camera.

Smartphones with a 108MP camera sensor aren't exactly new, but they're mostly limited to flagships. Mid-range devices tend to come with a 64MP camera sensor, though that may change this year. This speculation surfaced due to a comment from Xiaomi yesterday.

According to sources, the Redmi K40 series will launch on 25 February and there are two model variants. One variant will sport a Snapdragon 888 chipset whereas another variant will come with a Snapdragon 870 chipset.

The Redmi K40 series is just around the corner with the launch scheduled to happen next month. Earlier, it was rumoured that the series would bring a device powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 chipset as the Pro variant. For the standard variant, we took a guess on MediaTek's 6nm Dimensity chipsets. However, the latest source is claiming that the vanilla Redmi K40 will use the new Snapdragon 870 chipset instead.

First it was Apple, then Samsung and Xiaomi followed suit of abandoning the charger plug route for this year. Well, not entirely for Xiaomi, because like the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11, the Redmi K40 might also come in two box versions - one with or without the charger plug.

The Redmi K40 is expected to launching soon and based on a statement by Redmi's General Manager - Lu Weibing on Weibo, the device will come with durable battery life.

It seems that Redmi have confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K40 series will come equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity chipset that was made using the 6nm manufacturing process. While there is no official information in regards to the aforementioned chipset, the Dimensity variant will most likely be released alongside a Snapdragon 888 variant at launch.
