Today, Samsung officially confirmed that the Exynos 2600 is now in mass production. According to sources, the chip uses the cutting-edge 2 nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process — the first time such a process is being commercialised for smartphone SoCs.

There was a time when Samsung would launch a new Galaxy S series, and fans would groan on hearing 'Exynos'. Despite Exynos lagging behind its competition for years, Samsung doesn't want to give up on it. In fact, Exynos chipsets might make a comeback next year.

Reports of the next Samsung flagship mobile chipset first appeared in August 2024. It was suggested the Galaxy S25 series would sport the Exynos 2500 chipset. But that didn't happen because of poor production yield. A source has now claimed Samsung is aiming for a 2H 2025 release.

Samsung is reportedly preparing to mass-produce flagship smartphone application processors (APs) using the 2nm node by the 2nd half of 2025. With this new process named SF2, the South Korean tech giant is touted to release the Exynos 2600 AP.

Samsung is reportedly stepping up its game in terms of mobile processors, with the upcoming Samsung Exynos 2400 SoC looking like a world-beater based on the leaks around it. In fact, it may even outperform the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s Apple A17 Pro SoC.

Earlier, we mentioned how Samsung could rename the Exynos Chip as “Dream Chip”. Now, Samsung confirms that it will not happen. That said, what should you know about it?

Samsung and AMD have been working closely together since 2021, in which the former’s in-house Exynos SoCs will reportedly feature GPU from the latter. Now, some 2 years later, it seems that this collaboration will finally bear fruit and more impressively, won’t be limited to high-end Galaxy devices.

Qualcomm has revealed that its Snapdragon mobile processor lineup will be used by Samsung in its upcoming flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series. Moreover, Qualcomm also revealed that the Galaxy S23 series will be Snapdragon-exclusive, meaning that Samsung won’t be utilising its in-house Exynos chipsets for the flagship series next year.

Samsung produces in-house chipsets, but they barely get used by the company's own smartphones. However, things might be changing soon as the latest report claims that the Korean tech giant is planning to push the usage of the Exynos chip among the Galaxy devices.

Next year's Samsung Galaxy A series will probably be really competitive in terms of tech specs. After the rumour came out saying that all the 2022 Galaxy A devices would feature optical image stabilization (OIS), a new report has arrived claiming that some would also get the mRDNA GPU from AMD.
