    Rumours: Two new colour additions for Samsung Gear S2 Classic?

    So according to WinFuture.de writer from Twitter, Samsung is planning to add two new colours - Platinum and Rose Gold for the Samsung Gear S2 Classic version. Whether if it's real or not, it actually seems like a good idea since Rose Gold is becoming a very popular colour.

    In addition to that, a lot of companies seem to be jumping on the bandwagon of creating new colours or changeable straps. Like Samsung introduced a new metal version of its SmartWatch 3 Android Wear just last year at the CES, Sony Smartwatch 3 also allow users to change the straps with a price, and lastly, rumours has it that Huawei is planning to launch a new Huawei Watch for women.

    The Samsung Gear S2 (both modern and classic version) were released nationwide just last month on 27 November and Samsung Malaysia Electronics has opened a roadshow today (10 December) in Sunway Pyramid to not only promote their latest wearable, but they also hope to inspire the fans and public to start a healthy lifestyle for the coming New Year in the next three weeks.

    Samsung have been promoting their latest smartwatch - the Samsung Gear S2 for some time now but not quite like yesterday (26 November), when they held a fitness challenge movement for celebrities and media in Jatomi Fitness. The purpose of the event was to demonstrate the device’s capability and functionality in fitness tracking activities. 

    “Wearable technology is one of the most exciting developments in the consumer electronics industry, not to mention a fast-growing fitness trend among consumers.     Reports are coming in about a new firmware update for the watch, already rolling out in its home market. With the Samsung Gear S2 just recently released, there is now some feature updates coming soon for the Gear S2 as according to a XDA forum member who goes by the name of supersoulfly (that’s a pretty “fly” nick); he has claimed and gave us what changes we can expect for the smartwatch to have.

    The Samsung Gear S2 is inching closer to us on 27 November so lets take a first look at what it can do. The Gear S2 truly comes in two variants – the modern look and classic. The modern S2 is defined by design and display, while the classic goes for the more premium and elegant look. Both of these devices are made of natural materials such as metal, leather and glass. On top of that, the Gear S2 has a rotating bezel and side button that allows the user to navigate nearly all apps and functions quickly.

Then after a decade, the S9110 was released and it looked like a miniature phone making it the world's slimmest watch phone in the period. As time progressed, smartwatches came along and Samsung introduced the Galaxy Gear, followed by the Gear 2Gear 2 Neo,Gear FitGear S and now the Gear S2 which is coming to Malaysia on 27 November.

    The Samsung Gear S2 is the latest addition to the company’s smartwatch line and there are actually two options - the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 classic. As you can tell from the name, the Gear S2 is made for a more modern look while the classic version is for those who prefer a more timeless watch design with a leather band (straps are changeable).

    The official Gear S2 and S2 classic sale will be on 27 November pricing at RM1399 and RM1599 respectively, there will also be pre-order promotion in Samsung Malaysia website starting from 20 November for three days. Only 500 units are available to early birds, those who purchase during the promotion period will get a 20% discount and will receive a free additional charger and a charging dock worth RM169.

    The Samsung Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic smartwatches have been officially announced recently. Measuring in at 11.4mm thin the Gear S2 uses a 1.2-inch circular display with 360 x 360 pixel resolution. Powered by a 1.2GHz dual core processor and Tizen OS the Gear S2 also has a version with built-in 3G, so you can slot in an e-SIM and make voice calls direct with the smartwatch. While it offers new fitness tracking functions, the main standout features for the Gear S2 include NFC and compatiblity with Samsung Pay along with a 2-3 day battery life. Samsung Gear apps remain rather limited but at least the Gear S2 is IP68 rated (you can bring it swimming) and has built-in WiFi with Wireless Charging features. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details yet but we'll keep you updated.
