Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet now available for pre-order at certain Sony Malaysia centres

It appears that you can now pre-order the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet direct from certain Sony Centres here in Malaysia. While Sony Malaysia have yet to make any official announcements on Malaysia release dates for the two devices, you can walk into a Sony Centre and ask. The Sony Centre in Midvalley for example requires that you pay an RM100 deposit along with your contacts and particulars.

  • Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and more coming to Malaysia soon

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and more coming to Malaysia soon

Sony recently showed off their latest devices unveiled at MWC 2014 which included the Sony Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M2, Xperia T2 Ultra, Smartwear and Xperia Z1 Compact. What is even more interesting is that all of these devices could be coming to Malaysia very soon in the coming months. While we're excited to see the latest Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet becoming available here so soon, we're also looking forward to the Xperia Z1 Compact, which to date is the only mini version smartphone to retain more or less the same tech specs as the smartphone it originated from which is the Sony Xperia Z1. Check out the Malaysia reveal dates for these devices below:

  • MHL 3.0 on Sony Xperia Z2 enables 4K video output and 10W charging

MHL 3.0 on Sony Xperia Z2 enables 4K video output and 10W charging

Both the Sony Xperia Z2 and Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet were recently revealed at the MWC 2014 but a little known fact remains that both devices are the first to offer MHL 3.0 micro-USB ports. Most smartphones today are just using MHL 2.0 micro-USB ports which are a lot slower. The new MHL 3.0 port allows for 4K video output thanks to a dedicated 75 Mbps data transfer rate (MHL 2.0 only offered 1 Mbps) while charging and providing data transfer as well. Granted, 75Mbps is rather slow compared to USB 3.0 whihc allows up to 600 Mbps data transfers but it is still much better than the current MHL 2.0 standard. Most people probably won't have a 4K HDTV but if you do, you should probably get an MHL 3.0 port enabled device like the Sony Xperia Z2 and Xperia Z2 Tablet as well.

  • Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet officially announced as lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet, still waterproof

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet officially announced as lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet, still waterproof

The previous record of lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet was held by Sony's own Xperia Tablet Z, but with the recent announcement of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet this record has now been broken once more by Sony itself. Measuring an incredible 6.4mm thin and weighing in at 426g (WiFi version) / 439g (LTE version) the new tablet is still a super slim slate with IP58 water resistance certification. However, on top of being able to take a splashing, it now has dual stereo speakers, updated tech specs and a new LED Triluminous Full HD display. It can also hook up to a DUALSHOCK3 wireless gamepad for some gaming or the BRH10 Bluetooth remote with Handset Function so you can make calls (only with the LTE version). The keyboard accessory turns it into a work machine. Check out the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet tech specs below:

  • Rumours: Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet images leaked

Rumours: Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet images leaked

The Sony Xperia Z tablet successor or Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet images recently got leaked with both black and white colour variations. Coming courtesy of serial leaker @evleaks and a newer source called @gadgetleaks, the images show tablet that looks nearly identical with the earlier version. While @evleaks is often correct about most of the stuff leaked there, @gadgetleaks is relatively new but the images from that source also match with the @evleaks image. Be that as it may, do take this with a grain of salt nonetheless.
