    The unique Sony Xperia Z1 Compact is finally available in Malaysia with a retail price of RM1699. The Xperia Z1 Compact is unique amongst other 'mini' type smartphones in that it retains more or less the same tech specs and features as the smartphone it originates from, which is the Sony Xperia Z1. The only major differences are the size of the device and screen along with the screen resolution, everything else remains the same so you get a 4.3-inch display smartphone with 20.7MP camera! Sellers at our sister site of MobileMegaMall.com are already offering the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact from RM1615, which should be one of the lower prices in the Malaysian market.

    The Sony Xperia Z1 was supposed to have been the culmination of everything good about Sony. It would take the best out of all of Sony's product ranges and put them all into one smartphone, but while this almost came true, the screen suffered from rather poor viewing angles. Six months down the line and Sony have finally revealed the successor to the Xperia Z1 with the Sony Xperia Z2 which not only has a 5.2-inch display but looks much better  than before with it's new Live Colour LED tech, used in tandem with the existing Full HD 1080p Triluminous display. The tech specs and features have been updated accordingly with the Snapdragon 801 processor and chipset, 3GB of RAM and 4K video recording. But that isn't all, as the Xperia Z2 also offers new stereo speakers with noise cancellation tech built in. Check out the Sony Xperia Z2 tech specs below:

    Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet officially announced as lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet, still waterproof

    The previous record of lightest and thinnest 10-inch tablet was held by Sony's own Xperia Tablet Z, but with the recent announcement of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet this record has now been broken once more by Sony itself. Measuring an incredible 6.4mm thin and weighing in at 426g (WiFi version) / 439g (LTE version) the new tablet is still a super slim slate with IP58 water resistance certification. However, on top of being able to take a splashing, it now has dual stereo speakers, updated tech specs and a new LED Triluminous Full HD display. It can also hook up to a DUALSHOCK3 wireless gamepad for some gaming or the BRH10 Bluetooth remote with Handset Function so you can make calls (only with the LTE version).     Rumours: Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet images leaked

    The Sony Xperia Z tablet successor or Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet images recently got leaked with both black and white colour variations. Coming courtesy of serial leaker @evleaks and a newer source called @gadgetleaks, the images show tablet that looks nearly identical with the earlier version. While @evleaks is often correct about most of the stuff leaked there, @gadgetleaks is relatively new but the images from that source also match with the @evleaks image. Be that as it may, do take this with a grain of salt nonetheless.

    It appears that Sony could be coming out with more midrange smartphones as new images of some Sony smartphones have recently leaked. Coming courtesy of @vizileaks these images include the Sony Xperia G and the Sony Xperia D-series. Both seem to share the same monolithic look and metal power button but the tech specs differ somewhat. The Sony Xperia G tech specs include what looks to be a 5-inch display with a design and size more or less the same as the Sony Xperia Z1. Tech specs and features for the Sony Xperia D-Series on the other hand is a bit mroe detailed which includes a 4.8-inch screen, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 8MP rear camera and LTE connectivity. No news on Malaysia pricing or release dates but both phones are expected to be announced at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2014.

    Rumours about the upcoming successor to the Sony Xperia Z otherwise known as the Sony Xperia Sirius D6503 continue to come out. As it is, they are fleshing out a better and clearer picture of this rumoured cameraphone and while it seems like tech specs for a 20.7MP camera sensor, 5.2-inch display and 3GB of RAM have already been mentioned, other features are also coming out. These features include rumours that the Sirius could allow Full HD 1080p video recording at 60 frames per second on top of also offering a 15.5MP manual camera mode shot in a 16:9 aspect ratio. No news still on when we may see it or for how much but we expect it to make an appearance at the upcoming MWC Expo 2014 at the end of the month.

    When the Sony Xperia Z first came out it created a big splash, which is why many people are quite excited about the Sony Xperia Sirius D6503, which may be the Sony Xperia Z 2. Screenshots of the cameraphone's camera app were recently leaked along with some possible tech specs and features as well. So far, estimated tech specs for the smartphone include a Snapdragon 800 processor, 5.2-inch Triluminous display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a 20.7MP rear camera with 4K and 1080p at 60fps video recording and Android 4.4.2. Most of these tech specs are still unconfirmed, but the screenshot of the camera app seems to confirm that it will be able to record 4K video. No news on when exactly we might see a Malaysia release date or pricing, but we hope that it doesn't go too premium by the time it arrives.

    The upcoming Sony Xperia Sirius D6503 or Xperia Z2 as it is guessed at has been making the rounds in the rumour mill for a while now. We've already seen a number of leaked photos and screenshots which hint at some interesting tech specs. These tech specs include a 5.2-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution (we're hoping it at least is an IPS screen), dual-speaker audio, Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB processor and chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB / 32GB storage and a 20MP rear camera. Other features include the ability to do 4K video recording which should be fairly easy to implement as long as it is using the Snapdragon 800 chipset. It will also have a glove mode (so you can use it with gloves) and it is expected to be revealed in February 2014 with a launch date to Happen in March. Malaysia release dates for this rumoured Sony Xperia Z2 would follow soon afterwards. The estimated pricing for the smartphone is currently $600 (RM1995).

    The Sony Xperia Sirius D6503 is a still unannounced smartphone which could be coming soon. Some screenshots of the smartphone's user interface have recently been leaked, confirming a number of tech specs and features not least of which being the codename of Xperia Sirius for the D6503 model number. Other tech specs which were confirmed include a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 MSM-8974-AB processor and chipset, 5.2-inch display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM, a 20.7MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera. The Xperia Sirius has a high chance of being the Sony Xperia Z2 with a reveal date expected at the MWC expo in February 2014. Stay tuned and we'll keep you updated.

    While the Sony Smartband, Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia T2 Ultra have all been officially confirmed it wasn't confirmed that Malaysia would be getting these devices at the time. However, some Pre-registration forms have opened up for the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra. Pre-registering for either of the devices will let you get a notification from Sony Malaysia regarding when these devices would be available in Malaysia confirming we'll eventually see them here. Incidentally, the product page for the Sony Smartband is also available at the Sony Malaysia site which means we could soon see the Sony Smartband here in Malaysia as well, but there isn't any pre-registration for the Smartband yet. Also, no news yet on pricing or Malaysia release dates but with the pre-registration already up, we're expecting these devices to arrive in Malaysia soon.
