Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has announced that it will be building electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure in various spot along the North-South Expressway as part of its collaboration with PLUS Malaysia Bhd. Accordingly, the utility firm is investing RM90 million over the next 3 years to support the EV ecosystem.

Previously, we reported that consumers who suffered losses due to the major power outage last Wednesday (27 July 2022) can claim rebate from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). Now, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has given an update on the rebate, saying that the decision on whether to provide rebate is subject to the result of ongoing investigation.

UPDATE - TNB Careline has announced that the electricity has been restored. The issue was a supply disruption caused by a piece of equipment at Yong Peng North Main Entry Substation (PMU) in Yong Peng, Johor. The electricity power is expected to be gradually restored in each area soon.
By now, you should know about the news of the blackout in several parts of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor. More specifically - Shah Alam, Nilai, Hulu Langat, Bukit Jalil, Selayang, Segambut, Cheras, Seri Kembangan and Bangi. That being said, the blackout has also affected other services such as the Rapid KL LRT train line, Digi services and some traffic lights.

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) yesterday revealed that a total of 627 individuals and RM69.8 worth of itemas have been seized since 2020 in cases related to illegal bitcoin mining in our country. Furthermore, the cases involved electricity theft for the cryptocurrency mining activities.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in a statement yesterday said that the arrests were made possible thanks to cooperation between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ). In fact, PDRM even received 9 Mitsubishi Tritons from TNB to be used for combating electricity theft in Malaysia.
