OpenSignal recently revealed their latest findings on the state of networks in Malaysia for 2018. Turns out that Maxis are now the best 4G network in Malaysia (based on the results of OpenSignal's survey). About 6 months prior to this there was a similar study conducted by OpenSignal which concluded that in terms of 4G networks, Yes 4G and Maxis were neck and neck, both scoring higher than other networks in Malaysia.

Today, U Mobile has announced some new addition to the Unlimited Grooves campaign. In case you're not sure what's that, the programme is about raising fund passion projects with music and the telco will be adopting 3 local music artists - Kyoto Protocol, Masdo and Bil Musa for the course. In conjunction with that, a new Unlimited HERO P79 postpaid plan offers consumers 6 months of rebates on Spotify Premium in addition to unlimited data for music streaming via Music-Onz and unlimited data for video streaming via Video-Onz.

Today, U Mobile has announced a new partnership with WeChat and launched a new U Mobile WeChat Go SIM together. This new Go SIM is a new prepaid SIM that will offer Chinese tourists unlimited data on WeChat, as well as having free access to HD movies, documentaries and educational content out of China via Lingcod TV subscription.

Today, U Mobile has announced their collaboration with Knightsbridge Resources Sdn Bhd and officiating the launch of TraqKid. As the name suggest, it's a new mobile child tracking kit app that gives parents a sense of security on their children whereabouts and TraqKid's call centre, the app is only applicable to U Mobile SIM-based location services.

U Mobile has teamed up with the MinesKi Events Team and Logitech G to launch the Malaysia Esports League or MESL as the biggest Dota 2 League in Malaysia with an RM500000 prize pool split to the champion and top 16 teams. If the winning gamers are U Mobile users then they could win an additional up to RM50000 cash prize with U Mobile's 'For The Win' campaign, which could go to the 2nd or 3rd place teams if they aren't. Starting on 2 September 2017 until before CNY 2018 it is available to both Peninsular and East Malaysian teams of 3 gamers by registering at MESL.my in the coming weeks. As most of you already heard, U Mobile will be terminating their network agreement with Maxis. It will take effect by the end of next year (2018) on December, reason being that the company wants to focus on expanding their own network instead piggybacking. U Mobile has also assured their customers that the change in network won’t affect their data usage dramatically. Anyway, below is the official statement by U Mobile:

U Mobile and Sun Life Malaysia have partnered up to offer telco-assurance to U Mobile's over 5 million customers. This may include micro insurance at low premiums per month but these products are only set to be available from October 2017. Check back U Mobile's site then for more details.
