When it comes to chatting apps, most people in Malaysia would recognize WhatsApp and WeChat as the superior ones. In other countries, they also have their own favourites with apps like LINE, Tencent QQ and many more. However, some of the Apple users would still prefer iMessage over the other third-party apps, with its extra cool features like Animoji and Memoji to express yourself. Now, it is rumoured that there are a few new updates coming to the platform which will make users’ lives easier.

Ever since the launch of the dark mode system across the iOS and Android platforms last year, users have been expecting the social apps to have it as well. Today, WhatsApp has finally announced that it will be rolling out an official dark mode for both iOS and Android.

Dark mode is everything right now. Not only will it help you to save battery life, but your eyes will also be less stressful too while looking at the dimmed screen. While dark mode has been made available in many apps, there is still one app that we use a lot still haven’t gotten the trending feature yet, and it is WhatsApp. Now, the beta for WhatsApp with dark mode has rolled out to iOS users in the App Store, does that mean it will be coming really soon to everyone?

It seems that Facebook is currently testing WhatsApp’s dark mode, which is good news because not only does it use less battery on certain smartphones, but it also strains the eyes a lot less as well. If you are interested in testing out the dark mode for yourself, you will have to download a beta version of WhatsApp which can be found on the Google Play Store.

In May 2019, Facebook announced that it will start selling ads on WhatsApp in 2020. However, it seems like the company has decided to drop that plan. Facebook has since disbanded the team that was formed to work on this project and remove all related coding from the app itself.

Today, WhatsApp has stopped working on Windows phone and here’s something you need to get your attention on if you are still using an old Android or iOS smartphone. The popular Facebook-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp has just updated that it will stop providing any support on Android 4.0.3 or iOS 9 and above. 

We first found out that WhatsApp has been working on a self-deleting feature last month. The feature has since been renamed from Disappearing Messages to Delete Messages and has gotten some minor changes in the recent beta 2.19.348 Android version of the app.

Yesterday, Facebook introduced a unifying payment service that works across Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram to the public. The payment service called ‘Facebook Pay’ has started to roll out to users in the US after its announcement. It is said that they are working on bringing the service to more countries as well!

Both Twitter and WhatsApp have just launched new updates. The new feature on Twitter makes your feed fills with topics of your interest whereas WhatsApp is adding more security with your group chats.

After 9 months since WhatsApp has updated the Touch ID and Face ID feature on iPhone, the fingerprint ID feature is now available on all Android users to unlock the APP! With this extra authentication, you will no longer need to install a third-party privacy APP to lock it up and keep your secrets safe!
