Xiaomi recently released the Xiaomi 12S Series, a range of smartphone known for its impressive camera specs, most notably the 12S Ultra with its Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor fine-tuned by Leica. While the series was a China-exclusive during launch, many are hoping that it will be released in Malaysia but alas, Xiaomi Malaysia has today confirmed that the device is sadly not coming to our shores.  

During the pandemic, the need for gadget devices increased as we were forced to be lockdown at home. However, it seems that the demand has decreased. According to Canalys, smartphone shipments went down 9% in Q2 2022 globally.

Chinese tech giant Xiaomi may be getting ready to launch two new smartphones in the near future, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 and the K50S Pro under its sub brand Redmi. Both devices were spotted getting TENAA certifications recently, which also meant that some of the devices’ specs were also revealed.

We have written news about Xiaomi venturing into the automobile industry before. Initially, Xiaomi planned to reveal its first-ever electric vehicle (EV) in 2024 but there's a new report in Sina Tech that the Xiaomi EV prototype may appear very soon. How soon? Well, sometime in August by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun himself, if that's true.

A 200MP primary camera sounds over the top but it was inevitable. Besides Motorola, Xiaomi could also be working on a 200MP phone. This leak came from Digital Chat Station, known for posting leaks on various China-branded phones.

Besides releasing the 12S series, 12 Pro Dimensity Edition and the Book Pro 2022 laptops yesterday, Xiaomi also announced a new tri-band mesh router. Called the Xiaomi HomeWiFi, this router impressively offers coverage of up to 1500m².

Xiaomi has today confirmed that it will be holding a launch event for its 12S Series smartphones on 4 July 2022 at 7pm local time in China. Three new models are set to be unveiled during the event, including the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro and 12S Ultra.

Xiaomi may be launching a new Redmi smartphone soon as a benchmark listing for an unnamed device from the company was spotted recently on Geekbench 5. Codenamed 'Xiaomi 22041219l', it is believed that the device is the upcoming Redmi 10 Prime Plus 5G.
