After launching various products at the Unpacked Event that happened last night, Samsung has made an exciting announcement today regarding the One UI. The company will start to test the Android 11 One UI 3 starting with a pre-beta program.

OnePlus has always been one of the forerunners when it comes to Android implementation. Not long after Android 11 beta was released, OnePlus got in quickly and started testing it. While Android 11 isn't going to be officially released till 8 September 2020, OnePlus is already looking to unveil its latest Hydrogen OS 11.

It wasn't all that long ago when Google used codenames for its Android versions instead of numbers, tasty codenames too. For example, Android 8 was Oreo and Android 9 was named Pie. The company dropped the tradition with Android 10, though internally there was a codename for it. Now, a new interview has revealed the codename for Android 11 as well.

Now and then, you may have noticed some Android 10 that have very little RAM but run the full version of the OS. But Google is taking steps to prevent that in the future. The company will be looking to mandate minimum RAM requirements for devices with Android 11.

Now that Android 11 beta 2 is out for testing, some manufacturers have started to test the preview versions on their devices. Previously, OnePlus confirmed you will be able to try it out on the OnePlus 8 series. This will continue now that Android 11 beta 2 is out.

With how widely used smartphones are these days, it makes sense for the OS to be updated fastest. On the other hand, Wear OS seems to have gotten the short end of the stick in recent years, as it is still stuck on Android 9. But now Google seems to be ready for a major upgrade to Wear OS.

Now and then, you get companies that do an oopsie and leak info they shouldn't. Whether it's deliberate or not, these leaks are reliable since they're official. Google has already done this with Android 11 earlier this year when it revealed the Android 11 Developer Preview. Now, the company may have accidentally leaked Android 11's official launch date.

Way back in March, Google confirmed that it's hard at work on the Nearby Sharing feature. As you may know, this is Google's answer to Apple's AirDrop feature. The company has now confirmed that the feature is now in beta and users who are interested can try it out.

Now that Android 11 beta has launched, Android users finally got access to a feature that's similar to Apple's AirDrop - the Nearby Sharing feature. But Google isn't content with just making it usable on mobile. A source has found that Google plans to make the feature available on even more platforms.

Unlike the way storage is handled in a Windows PC, files in Android OS are gone for good when deleted. This isn't always a good thing, as you may not have intended to do the deletion or decide to retrieve certain files later on. A new storage feature in Android 11 will solve that problem.
