The Nothing Ear (2) has been in the rumour mills for a while, with the company’s founder and CEO Carl Pei saying that the earbuds will launch later this year. Now, we may have just seen the first renders of the Ear (1)’s successor thanks to a new leak from @OnLeaks and Smartprix.

The co-founder and CEO of Nothing, Carl Pei has revealed that the company is not planning on releasing the successor to the Nothing Phone (1) anytime soon. Taking to his official Twitter account, Pei said that Nothing is not like other companies out there that “churn out dozens of products a year”.

Previously, we reported on how Nothing finally revealed the name of its upcoming truly wireless earbuds (TWS), the Nothing Ear (stick) after the earbuds were seen getting certifications in various countries. Now, we have also finally gotten a release date for the unique-looking earbuds.

Previously, we reported that Nothing has gotten SIRIM certification in Malaysia as well as certifications in other countries for the release of new truly wireless earbuds (TWS). Now, it looks like the earbuds, called the Ear (stick) are coming closer to release as Nothing was spotted teasing the new product.

Android 13 was officially released by Google on 16 August 2022 for Pixel devices, with the OS update only coming to other supported Android devices “later this year”. However, one notable brand missing from the list of devices to receive the update is Nothing and its founder Carl Pei had some interesting comments when asked about the matter.

The Nothing Phone (1) has got to be one of the most hyped up devices in recent memory and the reception to the smartphone has been really impressive, given how Nothing is still technically a startup company. Now, if a new rumour is to be believed, Carl Pei and co may be set to release a ‘Lite’ version of the Phone (1) which would keep the same aesthetics but without the unique Glyph interface.

Nothing during an event in Sentul Depot, Kuala Lumpur today announced that its first smartphone, the Phone (1) will be on sale in Malaysia starting from 1 August 2022 for the 8/256GB variant. Furthermore, consumers can place their pre-order and get a first-hand experience of the device by visiting the Nothing Pop-up store at the Starhill, Bukit Bintang from 21 to 25 July 2022. 

Nothing, the consumer tech startup that’s making waves in the industry has revealed the first image for its upcoming smartphone, the Nothing phone (1) which is due to be announced on 12 July 2022. The first ever smartphone by the company, it follows the same minimalist aesthetic of its popular ear (1) earbuds by making the rear look somewhat transparent.

So just a few hours ago, the Nothing brand has released a short teaser and it will be about a new livestream event. In the clip, it seems that Carl Pei himself will be hosting the show and quite possibly, a new smartphone device.

Last year, Carl Pei came back into the scene with the brand called Nothing. Its first product was the Nothing ear (1), but it was soon rumoured that the company had more up its sleeve. A smartphone is expected to be one of them, and it might launch this year as predicted.
