Earlier today, Carousell has announced that they will merge with 701Search, which are the owners of Mudah.my based on the signed agreement with Telenor Group. With that said, 701Search’s regional hub team will be fully integrated into Carousell while other countries such as Malaysia, Vietnam and Myanmar will retain their respective platform’s brand.

Recently, Google, as well as Ipsos, conducted a study on how Malaysians determine their next smartphone purchase. The study has stated that Malaysians are quite cautious, and they would usually do some research before making their next smartphone purchase. Interestingly, the price usually isn’t the primary contributing factor when it comes to smartphones, instead what matters is the battery life, whether is it running on an Android or an iOS, and the internal tech specs of the said smartphone.

Shopee Malaysia recently revealed that they have made it into the top 10 most visited sites in Malaysia, becoming the number one e-commerce site in the country (according to Comscore). With 16 million downloads of the Shopee app, Shopee Malaysia will soon hold their 27.3 Shopee Mega sale starting from 21 to 27 March 2019.
