The Malaysian Government may introduce a new incentive specific for the B40 group in the country to purchase electric vehicles (EVs) in Budget 2024. Such an incentive was touted by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), but will only apply to purchases of e-motorcycles.

In the last few months, Tesla has quickly garnered attention from automotive fans in Malaysia. The company promised to build Superchargers across Malaysia, with the Tesla Model Y already available for orders.

Great Wall Motor (GWM) recently showcased 3 new NEV (New Energy Vehicle) models at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023. These include the GWM CANNON, GWM HAVAL H6 and GWM HAVAL JOLION.

While Tesla will officially come into Malaysia soon, this time around there’s news about their Supercharger network here. According to a tweet from our Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry one of the requirements for Tesla “includes the installation of at least 50 Super Chargers within 3 years”.

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change has announced that the government is targeting a total of 1.5 million electric vehicles (EVs) in the country by 2040. Its Minister, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said that the target was increased significantly from what was previously set.

BMW recently showed off their new Panoramic Vision feature which turns your windshield into a Heads-up-display digital dashboard. Fully customizable and within your view, this display is located at the bottom of your windshield and shows off colourful dashboard features like a clock, speedometer and even the song being played.

The International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) has revealed that it would be discussing with national car manufacturers Proton and Perodua on expediting the production of electric vehicles (EVs). Its minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that both companies would produce national EVs and introduce affordable EVs to Malaysians.

A total of 18 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will be installed along PLUS Highways by the end of the year. This is thanks to a collaborative effort by PLUS Malaysia Bhd and Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad has revealed that our country is aiming to install 10,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging points by 2025. This initiative will be made under the Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint.
