Last year, Facebook announced its plans to put ads in WhatsApp sometime in 2020. It was thought that the plan was dropped earlier this year when the company disbanded the team working on the project, but it seems like that may not be the case. A recent report indicated that Facebook is still looking to implement ads into WhatsApp in the future.

Not only that but based on a statement by Mustapha Kamil Mohd Janor, Facebook and Google were re-using content by traditional media companies for the past 15 years.
