As many of you already know, the US government is not in good terms with Huawei and more countries also stepping away from the Chinese tech company. Back in early August, the US government had banned 38 Huawei affiliated companies and now it seems that some Chinese companies have stopped doing business with them.

As per tradition, Huawei would always introduce their latest Kirin chipset at the IFA event annually. For this upcoming IFA 2020 event on 3 September, it was previously reported that the Kirin 1000 would be the next chipset but that could be no longer the case. Thanks to a new report, the company could unveil the Kirin 9000 chipset for the Huawei Mate 40 series.

Last month, we reported that Huawei could be developing their own desktop PC thanks to the leaked render images online. While we only got to see one part of the whole thing, the monitor alongside a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard have appeared online. It was spotted on the official Huawei developer website and the name is called Qingyun W510.

In a bid to transition into a self-contained ecosystem, one of the platforms Huawei has been working on is a search engine. Originally called Huawei Search, the platform went into beta back in March 2020 but is now officially available in Malaysia and has been renamed to Petal Search.

Since Huawei is banned from using Google Mobile Services, they have been steadily developing their own Huawei Mobile Services and adding more international apps to AppGallery (we were told Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are coming soon). According to XDA-Developers, it seems that the company is making a new Huawei Search which it's now on beta test.

The company is still not clear out of being able to use Google Mobile Services (GMS) yet, so they have been trying different ways to survive without it with their own Huawei Mobile Service. Yes, the trade war is still on-going which unfortunately placed Huawei in an awkward situation. Starting from the Mate 30 series onward, they won't be able to use any Google mobile services (GMS) but according to new insights from Fred Wangfei, a Huawei executive, he said that the company probably won't return to using GMS even if the ban is lifted by the US government.

So what's the latest update with Huawei? Well, just in case you missed it - the company has apparently shipped about a million devices with HongMeng OS, although oddly not on new devices because this is for testing purpose. While that's understandable, it looks like the company is going aggressive as they have requested on trademarking HongMeng name in various countries.
