At the IFA 2020, HUAWEI was supposed to announce the world's first commercial 5nm mobile processor at their keynote that happened on 3 September. However, it looks like the plan has changed as the 5nm process (a.k.a Kirin 1000) was nowhere to be found. It is reported that HUAWEI is trying to stay low profile to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

The HUAWEI Nova series is loved by many as it offers high-end specs but still comes with affordable price tags. In April, the Nova 7 series arrived with three devices namely Nova 7 SE, Nova 7, and Nova 7 Pro. Right after few months, the Nova 8 series has already come into the picture with a few rumours. It is claimed that the upcoming Nova series will ditch Kirin chipsets and rely on MediaTek's Dimensity chipsets.

Based on a statement by Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, it seems that there could be a possibility that Huawei will exit the smartphone market if the conditions between Huawei and the US does not improve. This is due to the fact that the US placed Huawei under a blacklist, which stops them from doing business with US-based companies such as Google, Qualcomm, and potentially more.
