As a tech gadget website, we have already written plenty of 5G smartphones news and their potential. Smartphone brands are already eager to release their 5G devices even though 5G technology is still in its infancy. With still a long way to go, it is understandable that many of us don't care (but you should, really).
Sooner or later, the rollout of 5G technology is set to hit Malaysian shores in the not-so-distant future. Thanks to efforts made by Malaysian telecommunications provider Celcom, we're beginning to see the literally-life-changing benefits of the technology. In this article, here's another reminder of how 5G will impact our future and why it is exciting.

I’m pretty sure by now that everyone knows that a brand new 5G network is currently being tested in Malaysia and it is capable of offering up to or even more than 6Gbps download speeds. However, there are still some users out there who are sceptical towards the new network, probably due to the fact that even the current 4G network coverage in Malaysia is nowhere near perfect just yet.
However, recently MCMC Minister YB Gobind Singh announced that states such as Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Selangor as well as Terengganu will be part of the original Putrajaya and Cyberjaya 5G-network testbed. If all goes well, we might just expect a few cities in Malaysia to officially offer the new 5G network as early as the first quarter of 2020. That being said, Is it actually worth investing in a flagship smartphone without 5G right now?

Since last November, Maxis and Gamuda signed an agreement in the provision and deployment of network infrastructure and services for twentyfive.7. This time around, both parties did another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Maxis is to provide and deploy 5G network infrastructure and services in Gamuda Cove, which will eventually be the first 5G township when it's ready in the country.

Xiaomi and IKEA officially announced their strategic partnership recently at the annual MIDC conference. This means that IKEA's full range of smart lighting products will be connected to Xiaomi's IoT (Internet of Things) platform starting from December 2018 in China. No news when these will be available in Malaysia or for how much.
