Flagships phones are great, but not everyone can afford them. Mid-range devices could be better, as they can be powerful enough while being cheaper. In that sense, the upcoming mid-range Qualcomm chipset could just be what many people want.

In the span of a few weeks, major chip companies all released their latest mobile chipsets. There's the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, MediaTek Dimensity 9000, and the most recent Exynos 2200. It's hard to say which chipset is the best, but new benchmarks could answer this question.

Previously, Samsung was expected to launch the Exynos 2200 chipset on 11 January 2022. When that didn't happen, some worried that it might not be available on the Galaxy S22 series. However, Samsung has now confirmed that this isn't the case.

Last year, it was rumoured that Samsung would be launching the Exynos 2200 soon. The company's new chipset was expected to be featured in the upcoming Galaxy S22 series smartphones. But a well-known source claimed that it may no longer be the case.

In the last week or so, we've seen some news about new MediaTek chipsets. The company already launched its flagship Dimensity 9000 last month, before confirming that a Dimensity 8000 would also come soon. Now, we also have sources suggesting which devices would be the first to feature the Dimensity 8000.

A few months ago, there was a rumour that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series would mostly use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 898 chipset. Some even claimed that the company may even keep the Exynos 2200 chipset for the Ultra variant only. Now, we got even more details on the chipset allocations for 2022.

With the Apple iPhone 13 series just around the corner, some wonder how the A15 Bionic chip would perform. Since it's an iOS device, it's harder to gauge that using apps like GFXBench. However, the benchmark does give us some clues on how it would perform.

Back in June, sources claimed that the Samsung Exynos 2200 outperformed the Apple A14 Bionic in GPU performance. The source provided no evidence to prove it, but now there's another benchmark to compare the two chipsets. But this time around, we have more details on the chipset.

A few weeks back, MediaTek launched the Dimensity 1100 chipset, which can be found in the vivo S10 and the upcoming POCO X3 GT. But MediaTek could be working on a variant of the chipset. In fact, there's a device that's rumoured to feature this Dimensity 1100U.

It's starting to look like Samsung's AMD-powered chipset could live up to the hype. In recent tests, the Exynos 2200 handily beaten the iPhone 12 Pro's A14 Bionic chip in GFXBench. Now, another benchmark has proven that Samsung's chipset outperforms Apple's chip.
