It's all about AI these days, with hardware and software manufacturers designing devices to cater to that. Among them are mobile chip makers MediaTek, which has been designing chipsets to power AI platforms. In fact, the company's Dimensity 9400 chipset will arrive in Q4 2024.

You may have noticed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphones are quite expensive. That's because the new chipset costs more than its predecessor. So, is there an alternative that is better but cheaper? Recent rumours say "Yes".

While the Samsung Galaxy S23 series was Snapdragon-only, that might not be the case for next year's Galaxy S24 series. Sources suggest that Samsung is already working on the Exynos 2400 chipset, and equip it on devices for selected regions.

In mid-April, MediaTek announced that it would launch a new flagship chipset on 10 May 2023. But the Dimensity 9200+ isn't the only one that the company has up its sleeve this month. Now, we also have news of the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset.
