A new report by Opensignal highlights a key strength of U Mobile’s Ultra5G network, and it is not just about raw speed. Instead, the telco is gaining ground in one of the most challenging areas of mobile connectivity, indoor coverage.

It has been a while since Opensignal gave us any new reports on the latest Global Mobile Network Rankings. The previous one was back at the end of November 2024, when we last saw both Unifi and U Mobile leading the 5G connectivity experience in Malaysia. In this latest report, we get a glimpse of how we are doing.

In the past few reports, Opensignal has openly commended Malaysia's 5G network connectivity. For instance, it was only recently that OpenSignal said Malaysia has the second-fastest 5G download speed in Asia. However, we aren't doing so great in terms of network reliability. 

Recently, Opensignal released two new reports about each country's mobile network experience globally. As usual, we will be taking a look at our local telco's performance in various categories. 

Yes, we are as surprised as you are. In this latest global 5G experience report by Opensignal, Malaysia is actually one of the top rankings in three 5G speed categories, as well as 5G Games Experience. As many of you should know, 5G is still rolling out and not available in many states at all.

Opensignal is back again and this time, it will be another Mobile Network Experience Report for Malaysia. As of April 2022, the data collection period began on 1 December 2021 until 28 February 2022. Without further ado, let's see what the report has to say.

As our economic sector is slowly reopening, Opensignal is back once again with another report on Malaysians' mobile data experience. The last report was done in April 2021 just before the lockdown, so in this latest news - the data gathered was between 1 June until 29 August 2021 based on Celcom, Digi, Maxis, U Mobile and Unifi. 

Currently, the trend of having 5G on new smartphone models is inevitable. While we still have to wait until the end of this year (according to our lovely PM) for 5G connectivity, one might wonder how is the connection speed performance of a particular smartphone? Opensignal did a test and here's what you need to know on which phone performs the best in 5G.

With the majority of Malaysians hogging on the server network, we are experiencing slower Internet data speed no thanks to the pandemic. In fact, Opensignal noted that many Malaysians have changed their mobile operator to another in 2020.
