Shortly after announcing the Snapdragon 8 gen 1 mobile platform, Qualcomm also unveiled another new technology called the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 Gaming Platform for Android, Windows PC and Chromebook ecosystem. As the name suggests, it's a new platform for gamers but with a twist - it allows you to run all Android games, play content from cloud gaming libraries, stream games from your home console or PC and enjoy entertainment from your favourite Android apps.

After the much teased Snapdragon naming scheme, Qualcomm has officially unveiled the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 premium 5G mobile platform. As mentioned before in our previous news, the new Snapdragon 8 leads the way into a new era of premium mobile technology. This includes 5G, AI, mobile gaming, camera, WiFi and Bluetooth technologies. 

If you recall, Qualcomm announced that the next-gen Snapdragon will have a new name. While there's no official word yet, it's very likely to be called Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. On that note, the chipset may have gone through a benchmark test on AnTuTu with over 1 million points.

If you came across some rumours of the new Qualcomm Snapdragon name, it turns out to be true! Well, kind of because in the latest news from Qualcomm's newsroom, the company has officially separated the Qualcomm and Snapdragon brands.

It's have been months since Qualcomm launched the Snapdragon 888 and many are starting to wonder if there will be a Plus variant. So far, that doesn't seem to be the case. But there's a recent rumour about a 4G-only variant, which is dubbed the Snapdragon 888 Pro.

Earlier, we have seen a rumour saying that the 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ will power 2022 Android flagships. However, as TSMC is reported to start producing the chipset in Q3 2021, some might expect to see devices with the Snapdragon 888's successor by the end of 2021. Today, Redmi's product director Wang Teng has clarified that there will be no smartphones with the 4nm chip coming in H2 2021.

It seems that Qualcomm has recently unveiled the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 chip which will be embedded into most entry-level laptops and Chromebooks that are priced less than ~RM1200. While not much is known in regards to the exact laptops that will come with the aforementioned chip, it does give us a better idea of what kind of performance to expect from budget-oriented laptops.

It seems that Digital Chat Station recently posted on the user’s Twitter account, stating that MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 900 chipset could perform better than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 768G chipset. With that being said, we can expect smartphones equipped with this chipset to feature a better price to performance ratio compared to phones that are still using older Dimensity 800 series chipsets.

Looks like a post by Digital Chat Station on weibo hinted that HONOR’s upcoming flagship smartphone could come equipped with the unreleased Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. Similar to the previous Snapdragon Plus variants, the chipset is expected to have higher performance compared to the base non-Plus variant.

Based on a report by gizmochina, it seems that Xiaomi might be planning to release 3 more smartphones this year that are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. While not much is known in regards to when it will be available in the global market, it does give us a better idea of what to expect when it is available in the local market.
