It looks like this week we'll be getting two nice WhatsApp features. After introducing a mute button for videos that are about to be shared, the chat platform is now bringing the most wanted feature to the desktop version. It is announced that video and voice call features will now be offered on the bigger screen.

Based on a statement by @WABetaInfo on their Twitter account, it seems that the developers of WhatsApp could be working on giving users the ability to send an image that deletes itself after a few seconds. While not much is known in regards to when it will be available globally, it does give us a better idea of what to expect from WhatsApp in the near future.

Although not many complaints that we can make about the features offered by WhatsApp (aside from privacy policy), the chat platform is still constantly adding new stuff to improve the user's experience. At the end of last year, a rumour had appeared saying that WhatsApp is testing on an extra feature that lets users mute videos before sharing. Until now, the testing phase has finally come to an end and it will be available for all users.

It seems that the developers of WhatsApp recently announced that they will be unveiling new features and updates via the WhatsApp Status feature, which can be found if you swipe left while on the main WhatsApp menu. This is most likely due to the fact that it is much faster to convey new information and updates through the Status feature, instead of having the users access WhatsApp’s official website as it is much more troublesome.

In the new update, WhatsApp will start to require users to unlock with biometrics when using WhatsApp Web. The new feature is said to add extra security to the web version of the chat platform. Other than that, it is also stated that WhatsApp won't be getting the data of your fingerprint and face.

Just recently, Telegram just announced that they now allow users to seamlessly import chats from other platforms such as WhatsApp, Line, KakaoTalk, and more. In order to do so, you may head over to any of the instant messaging app you’re using and select the export chat option. 

As if WhatsApp is not facing enough problems with the privacy policy update, the scammers are now making several troubles on the chat platform to make matters worse. Earlier, it was reported that there are fake WhatsApp staff scamming users using a voice authentication loophole. Now, a new method has appeared by using a malicious link that tricks users to install suspicious software.

It looks like a bunch of new hijacking methods have been spotted by JSJK PDRM on their Facebook page, giving us a better idea on how your WhatsApp account can be hijacked through a voice authentication loophole. The first method is where a hijacker would send the victim a message letting you know that your account has been compromised and they will need a 6-digit verification code to verify if you are the user.
