Xiaomi's MIUI 8 beta has been going well so far, the Stable version is ready and has started rolling out in Over-the-Air (OTA) update worldwide. Xiaomi smartphones that are running on MIUI 5, 6 and 7 will definitely get the update. Below is the official list of phones that will get the update first:

Xiaomi has been doing quite well this year, with two more phones planned in this second half of the year, their Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is doing superbly well in Malaysia and not forgetting the Mi 5 gaining recognition globally. So what's Xiaomi's next plan for next year after they're done with 2016?

Initially announced in February, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will soon be available in Malaysia for RM1549 starting from 18 June 2016 (via distributor Thorus Technology). Featuring tech specs that include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB RAM, front fingerprint sensor, 16MP 4-axis OIS rear canera and a metal unibody frame with 3D glass back, the Mi 5 is still very relevant, especially for below RM1550

We're now halfway of 2016 and Xiaomi has decided to send us a gift to their Mi fans, and that'd be releasing MIUI 8 Open Beta version before the official release date. If you're keen to test the ROM, you may visit their website to download. Below is the list of devices eligible for MIUI 8:

Render leaks of the upcoming Xiaomi Max have appeared, at it looks a lot like the Mi 5. If you take a look at the provided image, it looks like a larger version of Mi 5 with the Home button along with two capacitive keys. We can also guess that the fingerprint sensor is integrated into the home button as the back panel is visibly plain. Looking closely at the edge of the smartphone, you will notice both the power button and volume rocker are placed on the right side.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 offers a curved ceramic back that looks both sleek and stylish. However, YouTuber Alex Wang wanted to see if it is also tough, which you can see in the scratch test video below. Tech specs include a Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM with a 16MP 4-axis OIS rear camera.
The Mi 5 is still unreleased in China, but is set for a sale date of 6 April 2016. No Malaysia release dates or pricing details just yet for the Mi 5 but with the the recent Redmi Note 3 release here in Malaysia, we're hoping the Mi 5 gets here soon as well. So just in case you missed the trash talk by LG at Samsung on Twitter (which was taken down already) during the first day of MWC 2016, initially, we wanted to do a comparison between theSamsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5 to see which one is better. That was until Xiaomi Mi 5 came along and kind of dropped the mic by showing a high AnTuTu score (142084 points) which surpasses both of them, with 133054 points (G5), followed by 116668 (Galaxy S7). Although the Mi 5 comes up on top with the score, it doesn't mean that it's better. So which one is better? Let's find out in thiscomparison between the three flagships.

Optical Image Stabilization or OIS is often the key feature which lets you take steady shots and videos with your smartphone. However, the Xiaomi Mi 5 now offers a new 16MP rear camera with 4-axis stabilization to go with other high-end tech specs like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Xiaomi has finally revealed the highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi 5 flagship in Barcelona today, after two long years in the making and a possible delay making room for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, the Mi 5 will have three variants which are the standard edition, high edition and ceramic exclusive. All three look similar with curved rear edges that should fit the user's hand comfortably. The first two are also fullmetal and protected by Gorilla Glass 4.0, whereas the ceramic exclusive edition, as the name implies is made of ceramic and glass.
