While some claimed that Apple would discontinue the iMac Pro, renders of a new model popped up in May. It was later rumoured that the new model would feature the Apple M1 chip and would launch in 2022. Now, there's a new rumour about its display.

According to DSChttps://www.displaysupplychain.com/blog/what-will-the-big-display-stories-be-in-2022C, Apple plans to launch an iMac Pro in Spring 2022 (between March and June). It will have a 27-inch Mini-LED panel with oxide backplanes and ProMotion technology, which offers variable refresh rates of up to 120Hz. Apple also launched the iPad Pro and MacBook Pro models with mini-LED backlighting this year, and the analyst suggested that other brands could do the same next year.

Mini-LEDs are much smaller, which means greater fine control

Besides that, Apple is also working on the display for a foldable device. But it won't be available till 2023 at the earliest, if not 2024. A new iPad and MacBook with an OLED panel are also expected to launch around that time. He also pointed out the rumours about the iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max possibly using a punch-hole instead of a notch for the front camera.

Honestly, this is all so far ahead and can only be considered pure speculation for now. Is mini-LED the way to go, despite the increased cost? And will Apple finally get rid of the notch? Let us know what you think in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
