A report recently revealed that a Samsung Rollable Display smartphone or device which might be called the Galaxy Z Slide could be coming in 2028. While no actual tech specs have been confirmed, the rollable display is expected to slide out of the housing to expand the screen into a 10-inch panel with 16:9 aspect ratio. Obviously, there are no Malaysia release dates just yet, and we expect the initial price to be very high.

Refresher and the future

For those who don’t know, rollable displays are considered the next level after foldable displays despite being introduced at the same time. This is because the amount of technological complexity involved is much higher and since Samsung were the ones to initially introduce them, many are expecting them to outpace other display makers like BOE.

The report mentions an unnamed Samsung Electronics official saying that they are developing such a device for the first half of 2028. But, we have to say that despite previous roadmaps, nothing has been confirmed yet, so do take it with a grain of salt. What do you think?
