When Facebook rolled out Messenger Rooms globally in May, it was probably hoping to become the top video call service. With Zoom and Google Meet in the way, that hasn't happened yet. But the company has added some new features and changes to Messenger Rooms that may entice more users to it.

Facebook has added quite a few new features to Messenger Rooms over the last few weeks, such as the ability to broadcast your rooms to Facebook Live and integrating it into Instagram so that more people would use it. This time around, the company announced a new interface that helps users create Rooms via Messenger. Users will now be able to create rooms with custom activity name and custom background by uploading a picture or video.

Besides that, Facebook is making it easier for you to manage the rooms you've created with the Manage Rooms. For example, it's now possible to schedule a date for future rooms and manage who gets to join. You'll also be able to view, join, or edit the settings of your rooms. The new update has being rolled out to the mobile version of the app, while the browser version may take some time to be updated.

If you're on Facebook often and have a lot of contacts there, Messenger Rooms may be worth using as they add in more features. But have you used the app before and how does it compare to Zoom or Google Meet? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
