Latest iPhone 12 leak suggests that there will be 4 variants launching this Fall 2020

Back in March, sources claimed that the Apple iPhone 12 series this year will have two variants with LIDAR scanner. From that, it can be assumed that Apple's next flagship smartphone series could come with at least three variants this year. But it looks like there's going to be a total of four variants if a new leak is to be believed.

According to Jon Prosser, Apple has completed the prototyping phase for the iPhone 12 series. As predicted by analysts from J.P. Morgan (via CNBC), there's a total of four models available. The first two are both called the iPhone 12, though the first is 5.4-inch in size and the other is 6.1-inches. Next, there's the iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) and the iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch).

In terms of specs, the only thing we know is that all four devices will feature the A14 Bionic chip and have 5G connectivity. We can also see that both the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max come with a triple rear camera setup and a LIDAR scanner, while the other two lower-end variants will have only two rear cameras. The leak also confirms that each variant will still have a notch, which debunks the rumour from before.

Since Foxconn announced last week that it is working hard to catch up with manufacturing schedules, there's a good chance that the iPhone 12 series could still be revealed this September.
