Despite it being set to launch today, details of the upcoming Meizu flagship smartphone continue to leak. The Meizu 17 series is expected to launch later today but the price for its base model has already been made known. Product pages for the new phones have been added to a Chinese retail site, which had revealed the price for the Meizu 17.

According to the JD.com product listing, the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant for the Meizu 17 will retail for 3999 yuan (~RM2441). This is the only one which has a price revealed so far, with the other variant that has 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage listed as 9999 yuan, which is obviously a placeholder. Also, while the price for the Meizu 17 Pro wasn't listed, a previous leak suggests that will be priced at 4500 yuan (~RM2747).

Meizu's next smartphone series is targeted to compete with other Chinese flagship smartphones. It comes with a Snapdragon 865 chipset, smooth 90Hz display, a large 4500mAh battery, and a new 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera sensor. There's also the Meizu 17 Pro, which is expected to have wireless fast-charging support, LPDDR5 RAM, and a ceramic body.

Unfortunately, Meizu hasn't been all that keen on bringing its devices to Malaysia. Having said that, we'll still be reporting on the full release of the phone later today, so do look out for that if you're curious about the Meizu 17 series.
