Now that Microsoft has launched the Surface Duo tablet, its attention turns to other new products. The Xbox Series S that was announced yesterday is one of them, but it seems that the company may also be working on a new Surface laptop with a clamshell design.

According to Windows Central, the new Surface laptop will be codenamed 'Sparti' and will be a mid-range PC. It's going to be targeted at students, so the laptop will be a small and lightweight device. Specifically, it's expected to come with a 12.5-inch display, which will make it rival the rumoured 12-inch MacBook that could launch later this year.

Allegedly, Sparti will be equipped with a 10th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Its price is expected to be between USD 500-600 (~RM 2086 to 2504). This makes it much cheaper than the Surface Laptop 3 that was launched last year. However, do note that it's going to be a Windows 10 S device, which is a cut-down version of Windows 10.

If the price range is accurate, this 12.5-inch Surface laptop would be great for those who are budget conscious. But would you be interested in an entry-level laptop like this? Let us know in the comments below and do stay tuned to TechNave for updates on this.
