More vivo X100 Pro+ rumoured, 200MP camera expected to have variable aperture

vivo is preparing some notable upgrades for its flagship smartphones later this year. Previously, it was suggested that the vivo X100 Pro+ would feature a custom Sony image sensor. It's also supposed to come with a new 200MP camera, with more details being leaked recently.

According to GSMArena, the vivo X100 Pro+'s 200MP telephoto camera uses a Sony IMX989 sensor and a variable aperture. That means you'll get more control over how much light a photo can get. Combine that with different shutter speeds, and you could capture more variety of photos. Besides that, the source claimed the 200MP camera would result in 50MP shots with pixel binning.

Another camera that the vivo X100 Pro+ is expected to have a 50MP portrait camera. It will allegedly use a Sony IMX758 sensor with 2x optical zoom, autofocus, and optical image stabilisation. Moreover, the phone's chipset could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which would only be released after Snapdragon Summit from 24 to 26 October 2023. In other words, the vivo X100 Pro+ won't be available till after that launch.

Since it's the top-end model for the vivo X100 series, we can expect the X100 Pro+ to have some other new upgrades. However, we'll have to wait for more updates to find out. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more news on the latest smartphones.
