MyDigital ID CEO said the integration with MyJPJ is not cancelled, just postponed

This week has been a messy one for the Malaysian government. On the first day of October 2024, it was announced on the MyJPJ app that it would be compulsory to log in with MyDigital ID. The process wasn't smooth, as users encountered errors which led to a U-turn, for now.

We already reported that Transport Minister Anthony Loke ordered the pop-up news on the app to be removed, as it wasn't decided yet. With this, it's easy to assume that it's cancelled but actually, the integration is just delayed. As reported yesterday, MyDigital ID plans to roll out a physical registration method after issuing an apology.

MyDigital ID Sdn Bhd Chief Executive Officer Mohd Mirza Mohd Noor just confirmed this late evening yesterday, as he said the integration of MyDigital ID for the MyJPJ app has been postponed. He also mentioned a few media outlets have misunderstood Loke that the app login without MyDigital App from 10 October means cancelling the plan.

It may take a while for MyDigital ID to arrange and plan its strategy to roll out the registration properly. Until then, we will wait and see what's the update in the future.
