Much of the focus for Apple has been on its upcoming iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone 12 series smartphones. But with the latest rumour, it's clear that Apple wants to have a full lineup of audio products with its branding too. A source has revealed the retail pricing for Apple's new headphones and AirPods, along with the estimated launch timing as well.

According to Jon Prosser, the Apple headphones will be announced during the WWDC 2020 that will be streamed live in June 2020. This would be the first headphones with the Apple branding and it's allegedly going to cost a hefty USD 350 (~RM1522). On the other hand, the AirPods X's launch window is set to September or October 2020, which is when Apple usually launches its flagship iPhone models. It's expected to retail for USD 200 (~RM870).

Prosser has also suggested that Apple's end goal is to phase out Beats, which Apple acquired in 2014 for its audio expertise. This move does make sense for Apple, as having all its products under one brand will benefit the company. Without the Beats branding, Apple could consider redesigning the headphones and earphones in their image, instead of conforming to what people have come to expect from Beats.

Of course, this is just speculation and we can't confirm whether it's true, so do take the news with a grain of salt.
