It was just last week when we saw that WhatsApp was working on some features like animated stickers, but couldn't confirm when they would be released. Well, that question was answered yesterday when the company announced the new features in a blog post. These are expected to gradually roll out in the coming weeks.

According to the announcement, three of the major features that WhatsApp is releasing include animated stickers, contact scanning via QR, and dark mode for desktop or web. There are also some improvements to video calls, allowing you to zoom in on participants or start group video calls (for 8 people) directly from your chat group.

Most of these features were in beta for some time and we've mentioned them before. Animated stickers will give you a new way to express yourself, while dark mode for desktop and web means you can now change your theme for those. As for the QR code scanning thing, it provides users with a faster way to share their contact.

So, have you been able to get the latest update for WhatsApp yet? If you have, do let us know whether you encountered any bugs and what you thought of the new features on our Facebook page! For other news on gadgets and mobile apps, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
