The team developing WhatsApp has certainly been working hard this year. This year alone, the limit on group video calls was expanded, a dark mode was added, and more features are on the way. Recently, it was also revealed that animated stickers will be coming soon.
According to Gizchina (via Android Police), WhatsApp has started to test animated stickers in the latest beta version of the app. Currently, you're able to view animated stickers in the current beta version. However, the stickers only play once and won't loop properly, at least not yet. WhatsApp has yet to test the importing of stickers from third-party sites or downloading of them from the WhatsApp Store that is also still in development.
Besides the stickers, WhatsApp is also working on allowing users to share contact info via QR codes, make payments, and sync their WhatsApp account to multiple devices. All of these features are still in development, so we're not sure when they will be ready but we'll keep an eye out for updates. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news like this.
