What is OnwardMobilty and what do they have to do with the smartphone industry? Well, you see this company used to be in charge of developing and providing smartphones with physical keyboards. But since nobody really used that feature anymore, this means OnwardMobility is pretty much doomed.

From OnwardMobilty's official website, there is an official announcement that the group will be shutting down indeed. As we mentioned earlier, this spells the end of BlackBerry since this brand's unique selling point was using a physical keyboard on a mobile device. BlackBerry did try to bring this signature feature to their smartphones but they weren't executed very well.

In case you missed it, BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 services have already been shut down after 4 January 2022. Not only that, the company sold 90 smartphone IPs to Huawei and its BlackBerry Messenger also closed in 2019. The last time that BlackBerry made an appearance in Malaysia was way back in 2018 as well and the pricing didn't sit well with consumers by the selection of lower mid-range tier specs.
