Last week, we reported that some analysts think Apple may put on a monthly fee for the full Apple Intelligence experience that is coming soon. We won't be surprised if that happens but according to Mark Gurman, he's saying otherwise.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Gurman also agreed that it's quite likely that Apple will start charging for the full Apple Intelligence experience. However, he doesn't think it will start when the iPhone 16 Series launches. Although there is no confirmation now, we may be three years away from it.
When it comes to insider news about Apple, Gurman is actually quite reliable. The reason why he believes it should take three years is that he expects Apple to continue developing more advanced features to the upcoming Apple Intelligence features. That being said, he also said it is the "best-case scenario".
Apple Intelligence was announced during the WWDC in the middle of 2024, which will offer a few AI features such as a revamped Siri, Image Playground, Genmoji and many others (read here about it). However, only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, as well as the iPhone 16 series will have access to Apple Intelligence due to the power requirement.
