Redmi’s upcoming Snapdragon 855 device has been going by the name Redmi X due to some leaked posters for some time now. Lu Weibing, Redmi General Manager has confirmed that that is not the device’s name and will reveal the official name and launch date for the device tomorrow.

On Weibo, he put up 4 device names and asked users which they thought were better. The options were X20, P20, K20, and T20. Rumours have gone around showing off a cover for the device bearing the name Redmi K20 so it may be likely the name would be just that.

Among leaked tech specs and features for the upcoming device include the Snapdragon 855 chipset, 8GB RAM + 128/256GB of internal storage, a 32MP pop up selfie camera, a triple rear camera setup with 48MP + 13MP + 8MP sensors with ultra-wide lens, a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC, a 6.39 inch display as well as GPU overclocking. It was also claimed that the device may already support Android Q straight out of the box and an in-display fingerprint reader. Redmi has also confirmed that the device has been optimized for gaming.

It was widely speculated that the device would be launched tomorrow but I suppose we’d only have to settle for the launch date and official name tomorrow instead. Perhaps we can look forward to more leaks and announcements as well. Which name do you prefer for the device? For the latest news on Redmi’s upcoming device, stay tuned to TechNave.com!
