We may finally see a notch-less iPhone that still retains Face ID in the near future as Apple was recently successful in its patent application for an under-display TrueDepth camera. Granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office on 5 April 2022, the patent is of an ‘Electronic device including a camera disposed behind a display’.

A further dive into the official patent application document shows that Apple has actually been planning this feature for a long time. In fact, the patent application for the under-display TrueDepth camera was actually made on 24 September 2019.

The Communications and Multimedia Ministry (K-KOMM) has set aside RM4 billion in allocation so that over 4,000 schools in Malaysia will enjoy fibre optic connections. Owners of the new Studio Display by Apple are reporting issues with updating the monitor’s firmware to its latest iOS version, with some even being told by Apple Support to send their unit for repair. It is believed that this latest firmware update is to patch an infamous issue regarding the monitor’s below par webcam quality.

The issue was shared by several users on the official Apple Support forum, with many saying that they received an error message when trying to update their monitors. The error in question reads, “Apple Studio Display firmware could not be completed. Try again in an hour. If the problem persists, contact an authorized Apple service provider.”

Apple is potentially planning to release a new variation of its iPhone power adapter soon which is 35W and comes with dual USB-C ports. Currently, the tech giant only has a 20W adapter with a single USB-C port available for the iPhone.
